In the beginning, a distant echo whispered,
Of union sought, of self and divine.
Ten thousand miles distant, I wandered,
Lost in the labyrinth of false separation.
Swiftly I thought, to merge with you,
Yet folly revealed in the finite's grasp.
In vain I worked on self annihilation...
...seeking incarnation, or immerse in Allah,
How can boundless essence dwell
In confines of wajud?
How can a finite thing reach to infinity?
With each step forward, revelation dawned,
You, an ocean vast, encompassing all.
No drop, no soul, apart from your embrace,
In you, all life finds its eternal home.
Infinite reality unveiled its majesty,
A wave of wonder engulfing my soul.
In the vast expanse of One, I am but a ripple,
Lost in the boundless sea of unity.
