In The Darkness Within Poem by Mohammad Younus

In The Darkness Within

In the darkness within,
Yet light surrounds me.
Let me rise and embrace
The dawn's Fajr prayer.

The divine hues of morning,
A time for dua and salah,
I welcome Fajr with open arms.

My soul is Fajr,
Awakened by its call—
'Salah is better than sleep.'
As day breaks, I seek the rising sun,
To begin my divine day.

Daylight does not discriminate
By color—black, white, or brown—
But embraces all of creation,
All children of the divine.

This light enters us,
Filling every empty space,
Without melting away,
For the divine seeks to dwell
Within each of us.
