By ZHENG Wenqi Translated by East Sea Fairy
On a warm spring day
full of sunlight,
Up and down in the deep shade of the flowering tree
all alone I take steps light.
The long wickers of the weeping willows come into my sight.
So I take off some conveniently
and knit a truelove knot attentively on site,
wishing genuinely
that my husband can forever stay true to me.
For a long time,
having not got from him any letter,
the only thing I can do merely is to climb,
climb all alone upstairs in my chamber
to look far into the distance with woe and wretchedness ever.
When I feel helpless and distressed desolately.
I've been forever
looking forward to seeing you eagerly
since the start of the florescence of the cherry-apple tree.
