In The Doom Of Night Poem by Marilyn Lott

In The Doom Of Night

In the doom of night
You can hear muffled moans
And screeching sounds
In strange eerie tones.

The sky is so black
But look at the moon
Every once in awhile
A witch flies on a broom.

And the bats, oh my dear
They scare me so
I hold my breath, you know?
As they ebb and flow.

Skeleton bones rattle
As clear as can be
Oh my goodness
They do frighten me.

But it is all supposed to be
To hear or be seen
For after all, my friend
It is Halloween!
