Come walk with me among the trees
Aged and gnarled with their branches reaching high
Ever stretching towards the warmth of the sun.
They hold the essence of a hundred years and more
Of the never ending circle of birth, life and decay.
Sit with me beside the water, sunlit dappled
While it travels happily through the forest
Chattering over rocks smoothed by its constant flow
Giving life in its incessant dance since aeons past
Ever moving, the orchestra of the woodland, quick, slow, quick slow
Quiet hush, can you hear the earth breathe?
Can you feel the sap rising, the roots searching beneath your feet?
A misty haze hangs, like a curtain, above a little waterfall
And the sun's rays dancing light that catches the water as it falls
Snags on a perfect spider's web, changing the dew drops to pearls.
Come! Walk with me among the trees
With footfalls light upon fallen leaves,
And wraiths of mist rise in a whispering breeze
Where time stands still, where time began, where time has no meaning
Walk with me, and greet the presence of your Soul.

Superb poem, Valerie. Very well written with a fantastic message inside. So very true, that a walk in nature can bring us back to our soul. A 10+++++++++++
