In The Hands Of Christ Poem by Michael P. Johnson

In The Hands Of Christ

This world’s condemned yet can’t conceive
Hell’s jaws are open wide
So wrapped in self, she can’t believe
That freedom’s at her side

So few seek truth and saving grace
Afraid of Heaven’s Light
Till love’s more rare in every place
Than shadows in the night

Yet God forewarned these things would be!
Seeing man’s wayward path
No blinded eyes through shame could see
The day of pending wrath

Yet countless branches of The Vine
With Heaven’s Light to share
Have for the lost to rise and shine
Showing God’s love with care

He’ll take us in His mighty hand
He’ll soften hearts of stone
That man may learn and understand
To trust in Christ alone

Though supplications rise above
Though prayers may seldom cease
It’s through the deeds of selfless love
This world may find true peace

No more are we the devil’s fools
Who lie who cheat and kill
But in Christ’s hand selected tools
Doing The Father’s will

With thought of those yet blind and lost
Of Christ God’s Lamb and Son
With no regard to pain and cost
Let Heaven’s will be done
