In The Higher Echelons Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

In The Higher Echelons

Poetry is you and poetry is me,
But why have you change your colour towards me?
Poetry is to the whole world to express our views,
Like the mountains which do spew fire!
With man-made rivers and lakes to swing my muse.

Of a leadership to take up my muse to all mankind,
And we must get thew rocks to talk when the earth quakes;
For the fish need to move when,
The people do talk as well.
We must get our poetries across for others to learn,
And sometimes it pays to have connections;
For in the higher echelons,
It needs a visionary to make it through.

Like the legend of the dragon sword,
Always do follow the right footsteps;
Like the legend of 'Okomfo Anokye's Sword',
You've got to teach your children the truth;
Like the legend of the snake sword,
We need the land to talk like a camel's milk.

Of that day when mankind will laugh,
To soothe the psychological trauma like a bee;
But a second placed position is the first loser.
It always pays to have connections,
And it always pays to learn;
Like the medicine mountain from the interior of the earth.
The steel grids are gone!
But i am from the medicine river to touch your heart;
With ten thousand barrels of oil a day.
