In The Last Light Poem by Fred Rik Kesner

In The Last Light

'In the Last Light'

from the ground
the ceiling looks so much wider

from the ground
its cracks seem much finer

all the rooms have surrendered
the paint peels -

minute flags, off-white surrender;
the paint peels -

eggshells of heavy-footed plunder...
yet I remain

revelation, fall free
on this soul that has been bound

revelation fall, free
release this pretender from the ground
