In The Midnight Sun Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

In The Midnight Sun

Rating: 2.8

IN THE MIDNIGHT SUN

Gusts of wild wind rampaging
Frigate plows through great seas
Screeching birds aloft scavenging
Deaf to the lads below decks

Near rocky shores threatening
Deckhands work to bring her about
Loud boiling surf deafening
'Our fate is nigh! ' mariners shout

Seafarers' bones whitening
In tides that ebb and flow
Ghosts moan aloft in the rigging
Cries and pleas drowned in raging seas!
