In The Morning Poem by Emma Alberts

In The Morning

I wake up in the morning
Stretch and yawn
I look outside the window
By the looks, it's dawn

First I brush my teeth
Then my hair
Soon getting dressed
Making my bed with care

After I scramble downstairs
I open the fridge door
Look around inside
Cold food galore!

I grab the milk
Put it on the counter top
And flip off the lid
It flies off with a POP!

I open the cabinet
Look around
Grab some cereal
On the counter it pounds

After I get a bowl
Some cereal goes in
Pour in some milk
Flip in a spoon with a spin

Taking fast bites
Then putting the bowl in the sink
Into the water
With a loud PLINK!

Running for my jacket
And my backpack
Grab my shoes
Take an apple for a snack

The sprinting for the bus
Hopefully not late
Remember my chalk,
Eraser, and slate

I really enjoyed this one Emma! ! ! It sounds much like life at my house...well...except for the part about the eraser, chalk and slate! Nice touch! Hugs, Dee
