In The Quiet Of The Long Dark Night

IN THE QUIET OF THE LONG DARK NIGHT

In the quiet of the long dark night,
After a fast day,
I feel myself coming alive again-
The words move in my mind
And on the page.
I am no longer stuck in where I am deeply afraid-
I know I can write
And know I am alive again-
As if all that time waiting and praying
Was only to return me to my better self-
God being with us when we have faith in what we must do.
