In The Space Of Two Minutes. Poem by Richard William Davies

In The Space Of Two Minutes.

With the weight of the world on my shoulders,
Tears run from my eyes,
Sat in my hotel bedroom,
Watching the world go by.

I can hear distant voices on the ground down below,
A young schizophrenic staring at his own shadow,
Businessmen running to make that all important meeting,
While a policeman is on the corner giving a shoplifter a beating.

A couple are arguing vigorously about how they'll pay their bills,
While two young girls are discussing last nights episode of The Hills,
I can see the CCTV camera moving from left to right,
What a big brother state we live in!
That just morally can't be right.

Its amazing what you can write,
When you just go with the flow,
In a space of only two minutes,
I saw all of that out of my window.

I like this. Simple and straightforward. This is what I saw... there you go.
