In The Wind Poem by Judith Vriesema

In The Wind

Rating: 5.0

The wind composed a sonata upon weathered
copper chimes that danced in an ancient tree outside my window.

Birds slumbered and dreamed of songs yet unheard;
sometimes the sun catching and weaving sunset colours within the clouds like dreams drifting upon old pathways now lost.

One note, yet another, echoed from the melting snow.

Poems torn from grief-stricken branches and floating into streams from windows of lovers'souls
hovered for just a moment;
for just the length of a sigh that cries without respite.

One short caress from a beam of sunlight flooded an empty house with life once again.

Ah,

it was but one short caress in the wind
that chased the sound of your laughter to the sea.

This one sang so beautifully. I loved the line: 'Poems torn from grief-stricken branches and floating into streams from windows of lovers'souls'.
