In The Woods Poem by jimmy pavan

In The Woods

I am in the woods
In my dream,
With silence spread miles,
Darkness encored everywhere,
With a dim lantern and a stick,
Keeping the short steps
Into the dreary forest.

Directions seem same everywhere
Signs of life no where
Trusting the lantern light
believing the unseen friend
Moving forward in the muted place.

Hearing a voice of men
Stood for a second
I shouted back “can somebody help me? ”
The voice of my own echoing back! ! ! !
But no resound of the men
Made a move from there
Thinking it a hallucination.
Far from there I,
saw a flashing dim light
Miles away from me
Walking swiftly towards it
But stopped by the deadly canyon.

Prayed the unseen friend of mine
To lift me, to take me, to blow me
To reach the flashing dim light.
Why is this barrier?
In the midst of the path.
Is it a test bed?
Oh you! ! My unseen friend!
It is you who brought me here,
It is you crossing me from canyon……
