In You I Dive (Sonnet #130) Poem by Tina Baaklini

In You I Dive (Sonnet #130)

Love is not enough without compromise;
Love cannot survive without tenderness.
A love not genuinely nurtured dims and dies,
As the stars, true love glitters in darkness.

What is love without daily affection,
Caring thoughts, gentle words, a shoulder?
A soul that leaves not during affliction,
But stays, come what may, when life feels darker.

Tenderly, you stood by me, O soulmate;
Blissfully, your devotion I salute.
Strength and light you bring me, and I feel great.
Your soul is my divine beatitude.

I hold on to your heart, to which I'm tied;
We're one, as roots entwined, in you I dive.
