Incoming Poem by Sumner Smiles

Incoming

I bask as the blackness fills the air.
A shiver overtakes me as the energy bound within, reaches out and lays it's heavy hand in this small place in time.
All smiles as I wait and watch... they run amuck
looking everywhere for a shield against the rage sure to come.
Their souls more like the storm than they dare to admit.
I need it... come blast away my weariness with the goings on of this world, mingle with my madness so we might be one.

Like this poem. Would like to see more definition and expression of emotion or feelings. It seems like you come to the edge but don't go beyond the point of touching our minds. Really do like the poem and imagery. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for your comments on my poem: Looking Out A Hospital Window. RoseAnn
