Independence Day Poem by Jeremy Okeke

Independence Day

Rating: 4.0

Independence day was time ago,
Let's keep going,
Let's keep the river flowing.

1 October 1960,
Nigeria was born,
And now we are so free.

From slavery and death,
We are free and united;
The party is just getting started.

Come on now,
Let's all celebrate;
We are one forever,
And altogether.

Come on guys,
Let's cheer on for....

'We are one forever, And altogether'. Are we truly one forever? Are we truly together? Judging from the obvious happenings in the country, I seriously doubt this position.
