Inevitable Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Inevitable

The last
Ever accolade
And ritual
Of living
Beings
Worldwide
Known as
The death
Whether one
Greets or not
An absolute
Change
As such
An invite to
The original
Dominion.

Though
Bitter caked
Yet, a deal
And a deed
So perfect.

Once a hero
Becoming zero
‘Regor mortis’
A lifeless corpse
Stiffened
And the Soul
Set out free
On a journey
To its destination
Unknown
May be-
A new life
Beyond.

Death
As definite
Keeping
No almanac
Visits
On strict time
While, one’s
On death-bed
Agonizing
The last moment
Of its life

Frightens-
The very thought
The image
Out of one’s
Own imagination
Reflecting
God of death
And armies
Of devils
Capturing and
Dragging away
The resisting
Creatures
And punishing
The sinners
Vice-versa
As per the law.

Day in
And day out
Scared
Playing foul
Or fare
Cheating
Worn out
Encountering
Human beings
Flirting the idea
Of death.

Enigmatically
Crossing
Every doorsill
Forcing its target
To accept finality
And the target
Still, flirting
Faking
And evading
At last embracing
And the Nature
Unleashing
The chilling
And unnerving
Nude dance.

Nice to have lived
Before death
Valiant
A life with hope
Peace and honesty
Sincerely a try-
Before to quit.
