Infatuation Poem by Mita Diran

Infatuation

Didn't I warn you
About letting strangers inside your nest?
Didn't I tell you
That it's a jungle behind those gates?
Wasn't it enough
That you were let down three times in your place?
Doesn't that memory
Prick you like a splinter beneath your face?

Somehow I knew you'd fall
But I also knew you'd grow tall

Bitch, I told you you were doomed
And here you stand loving every minute of it as it looms

Crack a smile
Be proud for a while
