Inheritance Of Dust Poem by Sakhumzi Thembisile Qayiyana

Inheritance Of Dust

My older lover,
my new lover.
Poverty is too clinged
in my DNA,
at a certain point
it needs to let me go.
why do I feel so home
in the dirt.
I am mother's daughter indeed,
I am afraid
