Inner Darkness Poem by Joshua Mccoy

Inner Darkness

What I wouldn’t do
To be the soul within you
To understand you inside and out
To know everything you care about

To live life without care
And commit crimes without blame
To be greedy but do you fair share
Bless the silent angel without a name

From day to day
After night after night
You fight life snatching shadows
With no fear mixed with no fright

And yet…WORRY
I cannot hide
It consumes me from deep inside
What do I do?
How do I say
The pain that kills
From day after day
Through night after night
It eats away at my soul despite my attempts to slay
I will smile in front of you and cry when far away.
