Inner Flame Poem by Sara Jo Andrews

Inner Flame

Rating: 5.0

From years gone past,
From whence it first came forth,
From its restless slumber, it has risen.
It bursts forth from its ice entombed prision.
Looking deep into your once expressionless eyes,
I, there see my answer, you realize that you, yes you
have woken the beast within.
For too long I have denied it.
You siletly stare in wonder, as you see it flame
to life behind my uncertian eyes.
The inner flame threatening to consume me whole.
A dire need arises within, to quench the flame
Before it burns me whole.
Alas you inderstand my demise.
That you are the balm for this inferno.
My eyes a blaze but pleading, beg of you
to sooth this halestorm within that
you have released.
