'Silence is a language for people who can afford not to explain themselves'
- Willa Quinn, from the show "High Potential"
Can I afford to be quiet?
To stand there and say nothing?
Besides, what I got to contribute to the conversation?
What do I have to offer?
All I am is myself
There's layers to that
Waves of trauma tiered on top of each other
All blanketed behind a silly Brown face
I do not touch or take
Even though I've been touched pickpocketed and stolen from
I do not
Because crime is an exercise
And I am just too lazy
Whatever prank the Devil is pulling
I ain't here for it
I got razor teeth and a slaughterhouse of a mouth
I can make war with just one word
But instead, I stand still
Quiet
Because what good would that do?
What good at all?
When the apartment's already burning?
