Insecure (Parody) Poem by Francine Pangelinan

Insecure (Parody)

I don’t know if I can sing out there
How many times have I choked up there?
My nerves just keep beating me
I can be so shy without even noticing
I can sing in front of you….. But Barely
I am comfortable when it’s just you and me
When we’re alone and my favorite song is on

I am so insecure
Please don’t make me
I always say that I can do it
But then the spotlight hits me and I freeze up
Please don’t make me
How did I grow up with so much insecurity?
What is it with people that make me feel like this?
I’ve always been this shy
Can’t you tell this is all just a reaction?
I’m the only one who thinks this is hard and
The only one who is sacred?
I mean it, I feel horrified

I am so insecure
Please don’t make me
I always say that I can do it
But then the spotlight hits me and I freeze up
Please don’t make me
I lied to you about me not being afraid of singing in front of people
I couldn’t look you in the eyes and say that I am shy
I lied to you and I’m sorry

Please, please don’t make me
I admit I am shy
I’m sorry that I lied
I always say that I can do it
But then the spotlight hits me and I freeze up
I am so insecure
Please don’t make me
I always say that I can do it
But then the spotlight hits me and I freeze up
Please don’t make me
Please, please don’t make me
