Inside This Brain Of Mine

Inside This Brain Of Mine
By Mona Mia

Situations arrive in my mind
I see you walk past
I shudder and close my eyes
Before sneaking a glance
Afraid you’ll catch my stare
I quickly look away
Ashamed
For reasons truly unknown

It seems I act this way
With no one but you
With others I’m loud and obnoxious
But with you, I’m just cute
I never seem to be, everything I should be.
I always seem to be the opposite or in between
Maybe that’s because it’s simply your perception of me
Your version of me
It’s certainly not a carbon copy
There are a million ways to describe the inner works of my heart
Thousands of adjectives to relate to someone who I am

But, even then
You can’t mask the intensity of me
Only I can tell you actually who I am
Only I can give you more than an outsiders glance
‘Cause even observing my outerwear
My outward appearance, my mannerisms per say
You can’t read into my thought process
‘Less you be a psychic
Or an all-inspired creature
Lest you be neither?
You have no clue
You’re just guessing off of your human ignorance

They say ignorance is bliss
But believe me when I say that is foolishness
Don’t be ignorant be educated
Don’t spread rumors
Mind your business
And if you most be nosy
Ask solid questions
And maybe
Just maybe
I’ll let you in.
