Inside This Soul Poem by Maria Jose Garcia

Inside This Soul

Rating: 5.0

You see me smile
And never guess
What goes on
Inside my head.

The gloom, the fear,
The bursting clouds.
The deafening thunder,
The lonely ghosts.

I walk through life
Like any other.
You see me smile,
Think we are alike.

But my torn soul,
It hides a secret.
Each step I take
Is a labour of love.
Each laugh, each day
Is coated in loss.

It all started so long ago,
I have forgotten
What normal is.
You see me smile
And think I'm lucky.
I have it all.

Do not call me ungrateful.
I love my life,
Even if I have to tear at my insides
To be a woman,
Or just to
Go on.
Holding all this rain
Inside my head.

A well texted and nicely thought-out poem. Deep feelings expressed with clarity of thought and mind. Thanks for sharing Maria.
