i like to write a poem
about maria.
today she gets convicted
of libel.
i like to tell her that
honor too is sacred, that
one must not write falsehood,
and destroy a man who
never wanted any share of
the limelight like her.
Time declared her as
Woman of the Year and she
believes that, but what fame
she gets, and its accessory
of arrogance and recklessness
now claims her precious liberty.
maria, take the comfort of prison,
pay the fine, and move on.
honor, a good name, privacy,
and to be just what a man is,
are protected by law, so if
you mess, now it is your turn
too, be well, relax and think
some more, inside your cell.
