Intangibles Of Faith Poem by Karissa Harbuck

Intangibles Of Faith

Explain the inexplicable
Explain it the best you can
Call up the Pope
Tell him to connect me to God
Explain the inexplicable
Explain it the best you can
The world is in famine
It’s heating in temperature
And moral turmoil
Corruption creeps in every corner
And the innocent are hurt
This IS absolute truth!
Call up the Pope
Connect me to God
Explain the inexplicable
Explain it the best you can
“He” has all control
Yet my brain works
I am a freethinker
Without resistance from my limbs
Call up the Pope
Connect me to God
Explain the inexplicable
Explain it the best you can
God predestines and watches
Plays out life like puppets
But his “chosen people” he chooses to punish
Call up the Pope
Connect me to God
Explain the inexplicable
Explain it the best you can
If he lays his power in you
Grant me the investiture too!
What makes us not as worthy as you?
Self proclaimed righteousness
Doesn’t make you right
After all....
We’re all equal in our “Holy Father’s” eyes
Call up the Pope
Connect me to God
Explain the inexplicable
Explain it the best you can
Murder is wrong
Judgment and bloodshed, too
Good intentions can turn the other way
But it’s okay, only if done for You
Call up the Pope
Connect me to God
Explain the inexplicable
Explain it the best you can

Explain the inexplicable!
Explain it the best you can!
