Intermittent Poem by Kirsten Diederichs

Intermittent

intermittent
clouds
falling
drifting away
their shadows
leaving echoes
on our skin
snatched
by the rain
stolen by the sun
the cool breeze
caresses your cheek
an apology
from the sea
tears
stinging
behind closed eyelids
I feel my heart
hesitate
beside
your heart
racing
