International Mother Language Day, Think I Of My Hindi In Bengal
On the eve of
International Mother Language Day,
Think I of my Hindi
In Bengal
Where they understand it not
And I seem to be forgetting
And switching over to Bengali.
I know Hindi,
But my son can converse with me
In Hindi,
But cannot write it,
But my daughter knows she not
And both of them schooled
Through the Bengali medium.
