Into Oblivion Poem by Amelia Patterson

Into Oblivion

Rushing
Into oblivion
Are those dreams
Which can’t seem to stand.

Replaced
With a pessimistic
Realization.

If only reality had that power
To conform to our wishes
And give lost ones
Ground.

It helps to collect
Cherished memories
As my awareness diminishes
That fine line
Between the opposing
Realms named
Reality
And
Imagination.
