Introvert Poem by Quincy Moses

Introvert

I hide myself from the world
Thinking if I stay indoors
death won't see me
Terrified by what I see on the news
The brutal killings of people
vehicles going up in flames
It seems to me that the people in the capital don't care about the state
they lavish our money in their real estate
Now you can blame the system
Or, blame religion
You can blame everybody
Keep pointing that one finger
forgetting four points back at you
For our nation is but a seed
Planted in a rich soil
If we take turns to water it
And cut the weeds that grow around it
A beautiful tree emerges
And we can all take a bite out of its fruits
But why listen to me?
For I'm just a boy scared of death.
