Invisible Joy Poem by Mary Elizabeth Sharma

Invisible Joy

The storm

Sweeping across the desert

The calm, before

Air,
Heavy,
Oppressive,
Moist with the promise of rain to come

Sky,
Clouds,
Undulating blackness, electric flashes
Thunder booming Booming BOOMING

Air,
Movement,
Stirring,
Moist with the scent of earth

AIR
SKY
Molten togetherness
Black above, below, raining, flashing,
brown, blue, purple
rushing cacophony
sounds, lights, sensations
