Iron Sharpens Iron, Proverbs 27: 17 Poem by Luke Easter

Iron Sharpens Iron, Proverbs 27: 17

Rating: 4.5

Iron sharpens iron, is your knife too dull to cut?
Are you a pure bread mongrel or satisfied as a junkyard mutt?
The only kind of fruit that anyone will be able to share,
Is from whatever tree they are growing and solemnly bare.

How can you loan someone money if you are too broke?
Why light another person’s cigarette when you hate smoke?
Or laugh at off-color remarks but despise racial jokes?
Do you carry doubt & positive luggage is just as easy to tote?

Peter walked on water believing faith not to be a trick,
Everything was OK as long as on Jesus his eyes stayed fixed,
You too can walk above whatever negative situation,
Not casting your focus on another’s unfounded interpretation.

Like attracts like so why hang around those who disbelieve?
Whom are you more concerned with trying to please?
Taking up the Cross of Jesus does not mean to have less,
Otherwise, how can you help another get out of their mess?

The devil’s only job is to deceive and function as a liar,
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego made it through the fire,
Did not Daniel survive in a den surround by the king of beasts?
The blood of Jesus allows us to receive most, not the least.

People will follow anyone with a gold watch on their wrist,
Say preachers who think prosperity is supposedly a deadly kiss,
Giving their sermon to a dwindling member congregation,
With churches growing only as far as their defeated imagination.

According to Paul, comparing yourself to others is not wise,
At the same time do not let jealousy spit out a bunch of lies,
Why listen to someone unable to succeed and maximize,
Spend time only to denounce creativity plus criticize.

Failing doesn’t make you a failure it means you’ve made mistakes,
Have you ever read the real life story of Bishop T.D. Jakes?
Jesus will forever be the same yesterday, today and tomorrow,
Do you prefer listening to the gospel or those only speaking sorrow?

Followers focus on problems while leaders create solutions,
What magnitude of people wrote The United States Constitution?
Are you one to go the extra mile or fall short through compromise?
Is what you’re accomplishing really pleasing in the Lord’s eyes?

No one has a gun to your head or an arm twisted behind your back,
The Holy Bible I read states seeking the Lord does not equal lack,
Unfortunate circumstances derailed your train, put it back on track,
By unparalleled faith, trust and belief in God, that my friend is a fact.
