Iron Words Poem by Robert Stoddard

Iron Words

Within a world with many darks,
how do I walk without a mark?
How can I soar past tainted door,
pressing forward to something more?

When loving words will flutter by,
and I feel my heart just might die,
how can I feel those heeds I need?
Where is the water to feed my seed?

When friendship’s pillars turn to salt,
where do I turn to stop the halt,
to undamn waters of gentle strength,
to see the truth in all its length?

You gave this book, and just said look.
Dropping pride, your advice I took.
I have read, for I knew I must,
over and over, it spoke of trust.

To let someone I haven’t meet
wield my heart and be my net.
To hope for what I cannot see
but surely, surely, it must be.
