Isolation Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Isolation

Human contact, I must do without,
They cannot hear although I shout.
Darkness surrounds me, I can't see,
I wonder why this is happening to me.

I did nothing wrong, I broke no law,
I wonder if it's because of what I saw.
The echo of my voice is the only sound,
For now I know nobody else is around.

Life is too short and I don't understand,
How this inner voice obeys my command.
The loneliness creates a temptation,
That still pulls me into this isolation.
