It All Depends On What Map Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

It All Depends On What Map

The world has many paths,
Some say their way is best.
With hopeful hearts and faiths,
They put beliefs to test.

One faith claims all the light,
Another shares its view.
Some say the day is bright,
While others seek the true.

No single map agreed,
For where the spirit goes.
Different prayers are freed,
As everybody knows.

A world of paths, a world of views,
No one road, all agree is true.
Some folks say, 'This is the way,
The only light, come what may.'

Like stories old, from distant lands,
Whispered down through praying hands.
Some believe, with hearts so deep,
Their sacred words, the truth to keep.

But others walk a gentler track,
No single truth, no turning back.
They share their peace, their lessons kind,
And leave the 'only' to the mind.

So many voices, soft and loud,
Each in their own believing crowd.
The heart decides, the spirit knows,
Where love and wisdom truly grows.

Love and kindness bloom,
In ways both old and new.
Dispelling doubt and gloom,
For me, for her, for you.
