It Fell Behind But Never Went Away. Poem by Cheryl McDonnell

It Fell Behind But Never Went Away.

Rating: 5.0

saw you off in the stark morning frost
Each and every day your desert I would cross
Woman you haunt me in all of my dreams
Falling into space I catch your last screams

I leave you behind too, you were my mistake
But I loved you very much that is the final take
Don't follow me where I go now
The danger of this year will take you down

We are all the falling grace and the over proud
The strength of the fallout and the mushroom cloud
Don't carry it on unless you can withstand
The rebellion within my libertene hands

If you want to fail trace the root to the seed
This poison has grown deep within our greed
Let me tell you that this is only a ride
Rollercoster off the edge and out with the tide

Perfectly painted was my picture
Killing hours with an elixer
God only knows how I survied
But some how I did and mostly with lies

There were invasions of my mind
I don't care though because of you
The year was blunted slightly I suppose
Sooner or later I'll find myself refused
