It is true what I say—
Nevermore will I speak
Of what I claim to withhold:
The guarded truth.
My bones have grown feeble,
My head turned white with age,
Yet never have I been disappointed,
For I am allayed by Wisdom—
The core of my being, my reality.
So many years, so many milestones,
As I journeyed along the way,
This eternal love affair
With my Lord from Alast—
the Eternal bond.
I cannot love those fleeting shades
That pull me from my essence.
How many illusions I held so dear,
Shades I loved, only to watch them fade.
The violent storms of nafs
Tested the steadfastness of my heart,
Challenging my devotion
To the path of divine unity.
Yet, no matter how time's thorns
Wear me down, I will continue—
Loving and adoring
The jubilant rainbow of unity,
One in whole manifestation.
