It Is You I Miss Poem by Tyra Falconwing

It Is You I Miss

I’m writing this morning
To write you a song
To tell you the love I lost
When you were gone

I am all alone
Trapped in a state of mind
Thinking about how much I miss you
I’m waiting for our time

I just want to see your face
I want to be held in your arms
I need to be by your side
Where I feel safe from harm

All I know is that I miss you
Can’t get you out of my head
I miss you more than my house
I miss you more than can be said

I feel like I have been forgotten
Even though you are thinking of me
It’s just that I’m so lonely
It makes it hard to believe

But just around the corner
I know that you are waiting there
Whispering to the wind
Whispering how much you care

Across the world
The breeze is caressing me
Carrying your secrets
To where they are suppose to be

But waiting is the worst part
Weeks feel like years
My heart is suffering
Shedding my misplaced tears

I miss you
Please come back to me
I’m waiting for your smile
That I have been longing to see

With every step I take
Another memory reaches the surface
With every move I make
You expressive face is revealed

I see your glimmering eyes in the stars
I see your smile within the moon
I hear your voice in the wind
I feel your arms around me in the afternoon

But when I turn around
You are not there
I am all alone
Although deep down I know you care

But the answer is clear
It has nothing to do with your kiss
The answer is just simply
It is you I miss
