It Looks Good On You: ] Poem by Jayson Howard

It Looks Good On You: ]

Come on, let’s take a stroll,
its been a while and you owe me one.
We talk about the past, and we share some laughs,
Talking about future plans, and where it all ends.
That’s when you look down,
sporting a frown…

And I look at you and say,
“Smile, cause it looks good on you.”
“Smile, cause it’s the best thing to do.”
Because when you turn to me, and flash those whites,
I know everything, will be alright.

You don’t have long to stick around,
which is a bummer, when it’s summer, in this town.
It’s your last day, but please don’t go away.
I look at you, you look at me too.
That’s when you look down,
sporting a frown…

So I lift your chin up and say,
“Smile, cause it looks good on you.”
“Smile, cause it’s the best thing to do.”
Because when you turn to me, and flash those whites,
I know everything, will be alright.

You’re so casual with your walk, and the way you talk,
you’re mesmerizing, so hypnotizing,
And every single second I’m with you,
I think, “Oh, how I love you.”

“Smile, cause it looks good on you.”
“Smile, cause it’s the best thing to do.”
Because when you turn to me, and flash those whites,
I know everything, will be alright.
It’ll be alright.
