It's A Bit Like Poem by Ruth L. Rivers

It's A Bit Like

It's a bit like living and a lot like life
It's a bit like learning to ride a bike
It's the throb of the pulse
And the bounce of the ball
Loving a child in spite of it all

It's a bit like trying and a lot like hope
It's a bit like success at how to cope
It's the rise of the sun
And the breath in and out
Lovingly trusting in spite of doubt

It's a bit like caring and a lot like love
It's a bit like mom's tender healing touch
It's the relief of the tears
And the friends gentle smile
Loving a hurting soul for a while

It's a bit like waiting and a lot like peace
It's a bit like waters unrestricted release
It's the freedom to hear
And the mind to understand
Loving beyond distance, time, and land

It's a bit like laughing and more like joy
It's a bit like finding your old favorite toy
It's the release of pain
And the re-birth of innocence
Loving forgetful and tired grandparents
