Pushed through the birth canal
Introduced to life’s first shock
Crying, hungry, struggling for breath
It’s all about living.

Growing, changing, playing, fighting, hurting, enjoying
Making friends, going to school, choosing a career
It’s all about living.

Increasing responsibilities, going to work
Choosing a partner, raising a family
It’s all about living.

Fighting to stay alive, facing illness
Stomach and spine, heart and bones
Saying goodbye to loved ones –
Family, friends and strangers
Facing limits imposed by Nature’s hand
Imparting our wisdom to those coming behind
It’s all about living.

Meeting our destiny, inevitable demise
In fear or peace
Leaving our legacy – lesson of a life completed.
Yes, even dying is all about living.
