It's Always Him Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

It's Always Him

Alone he sits, his mind blank with boredom.
Reading a book, randomly picked from the shelf.
He see's nothing around him
the same sea of faces, continuing to blind him.
She enters the room, followed by her friends.
He looks up, mouth hung open.
His mind racing, fire errupts from his heart, screaming to be
put out.
He feels nothing, the strongest feelings he's ever had override
everything.
She's nothing like he's ever seen before.
Her beauty catches him, like a fish in a net.
She and her friends sit near, he watches.
One of the others catch his stare and whispers to her.
She looks over and smiles, her perfect face melts away any fear.
He walks over, shaky but confident.
Butterflies rebel in his stomache, his chest aches, making breathing
impossible.
She watches, curiosity sketched on her face.
Her friends rattle like snakes, he cannot hear.
He see's only her, lighting up his world.
The bell rings, like an eagle screaming in the night.
She and her friends leave.
The rooms falls apart and he returns, heartbroken.
Mayby next time.
