It's Autumn My Love Poem by Joyce Hemsley

It's Autumn My Love

Autumn is here, golden leaves are falling
over England's green valleys and dales
and my sad eyes forever look back dear
to the days of our sweet fairy-tales.

My heart belongs way over the hill
where the red rose is blossoming still;
for close by your side, love was so true
in the valley of dreams,
where I once lost my mind over you.

Autumn is here; your kind voice is calling
with a wonderful evergreen song...
but deep down in my heart I know dear
those days of our young love have gone.

One day, I'll return to the house on the hill
when blossoms each spring daffodil
and each hour I'll be walking beside you
in the valley of dreams
where I once lost my mind over you.
