It’s been a while since we talked,
Or took a walk together
I remember when you’d take my hand,
and lead me to many places.

I recall meeting countless smiles,
upon an abundance of new faces.
Doors you opened to my heart;
The windows to my opportunities.

You were the strive in every step.
The force that carried me through.
The eyes that laid my course ground.
The retreat I only knew.

I humbly wait for you to lift me up,
To open your skies to me once more
Let me ride your holy light
And be cupped inside your hand

Let’s dance in the music of your words.
Let’s walk together through new doors.
Let’s retreat in love and the pride of just being.
Remind me of who I am.
For it’s been a while since we talked,
