There she was in my backyard. My garden became her own
I thought she was there by herself, but she couldn’t have been alone…
I stood there in amazement, surprised by what I’d seen
This guiltless youth was dancing beneath my maple tree…

You know the roads I speak of
Of regret, heartache, and tears
The slope that keeps on heightening
Leaving the ending nowhere near
...

Have you ever felt trapped inside of your skin?
Have a desire to be free, or to be someone new?
Knowing most of your energy and time are often spent
Living for someone other than 'You”.
...

It’s been a while since we talked,
Or took a walk together
I remember when you’d take my hand,
and lead me to many places.

A Waltz Inside My Garden

There she was in my backyard. My garden became her own
I thought she was there by herself, but she couldn’t have been alone…
I stood there in amazement, surprised by what I’d seen
This guiltless youth was dancing beneath my maple tree…

She twirled in constant circles, like she was lead by someone’s hand
At times I viewed her waltzing with nothing but scented air…
She was dressed much like a fairy, with a striking mane of silk
Sheathed by a floral garland that draped her skin of milk…

Her dress gallantly flowed in the breeze like a sheet draped on a line
Distributing a lyrical symphony, a chorale-made of twine
Arms out stretched as her smile, she balanced on limbs of trees
She pranced over the poppies, every blossom she had seized…

I hurried through the vestibule as I called onto the lass
She levitated from the earth and sashaying across the grass..
She caught her breath, as I caught mine and asked me, “Did I see? ”
She claimed she was lead a dance-I confusingly had to agree…

Who waltz with you, and placed you upon my trees so high?
She shouted in excitement, “it was my dad-he visits me some time
This was once our garden, and his absolute favorite place
He’d spend many countless hours caring for every inch of space…

I pray often that he’d return, to dance with me again
Embracing in the arms of each other, inspired by natures trends
We would cultivate each morning and dance all through the night
Celebrating the love for each other and the beauty in our sight

He’s told me things about you, and how he watches over you
He says that you appear lonely and you love to garden too…
Perhaps someday you’ll see him and enjoy a dance of your own
Among this bountiful garden that both your hands had sown
