It's Not Cool They Say

Rating: 4.0

My friend wasn’t voting
I asked him why
He said because “it isn’t cool”
I stared back stunned
That night I cried silent tears
It must be nice I thought,
To have rights to take for granted
I lay awake and wondered
How many would cast a vote for me?
For me it’s life or death
And my fate is not in my hands.
But in those who want to cast me away
And wouldn't care what happens to me.
Wouldn't it be 'cool' to save a life?
