It's Not My Fault Poem by Hailey Agnew

It's Not My Fault

Rating: 5.0

It's not my fault,
you pushed me away.
It's not my fault,
you didn't want me to stay.
How can you blame me,
without ever having listened to what I had to say?
It's not my fault,
your life sucks.
It sucks without me,
you know this.
Is that why you blame me,
cuz you can't commit?
Is it my fault your judgement is so off,
or my fault you're afraid of love?
Can you blame me,
for what I had no control of?
It was your choice,
it always was.
I waited for you,
I was in love.
But I didn't have forever,
even though I said never say never.
But you pushed me away,
slowly and painfully,
eventually it worked,
and away I went, to stay.
I got over you,
and it's your own fault,
so don't blame me,
cuz I the world ain't black and white, it doesn't work in sugar and salt.
But you wouldn't know.
So don't tell me it was my fault,
don't blame me for your mistakes,
don't sit there while I bake,
and wait until I was finished and gone to want the cake.
Because by then it's too late.
