It's Over Poem by emily summers

It's Over

I loved you so dearly,
so why did you hurt me so severely?
I saw you with that girl,
yet you insist I'm your world,
did you really mean,
the words you said to me?
Or were they simply empty?
All those promises,
you swore you'd keep,
but it's obvious you were gritting your teeth,
all the little things you did for me,
were they just to buy time with that lady?

Why am i not good enough?
Am i too dumb?
Am i too fat,
because i loved you so much, i would change that.

But you went behind my back,
making me look like a fool,
i was simply your social tool,
all the tears i shed for you made a metorphorical pool,
a pool of lies,
a pool of dread,
all i did was loved you instead,
yes- i'm using past tense,
you're not taking for a ride,
so pull over i'll walk,
because all the words you said to me,
were empty,
like small talk.
